Fox Float X Modified CTD Lever System

We are also offering a modified version of the CTD lever system if you want to be able to make quick adjustments on the fly,
we rework the internals by removing the digressive blow-off system and replace it with a custom progressive shimmed high speed valving piston system,
the lever now acts more like a low speed adjuster with climb being the firmest and descend the softest, trail is used for fine tuning.

Stock(digressive) CTD Left / Modified(Progressive) CTD Right

When we complete the modifications think of the lever as a 5 position low speed adjuster with 3 fine tuning positions in the middle T1-T2-T3,
the standard position will be T2, it will give you a firmer low speed feel, blend smoothly into the midspeed and no longer feel harsh deeper in the stroke on high speed hits.
Climb will be the firmest low speed feel for more efficient pedaling and better traction and descend will be the softest for super soft small bump absorbtion without that blow through the stroke feel.

The modified CTD adjuster now smoothes out the trail position for a better blend from low to mid speed compression and better high speed square edged performance. Trail 2 would be the standard fine tune setting,
climb will be the firmest low speed setting, not as firm as before but will pedal well while stile absorbing the bumps, descend will be the softest setting but not be as harsh in the square edged stuff.
The main piston valving will be changed to match your linkage curve and the rebound valving will be set-up for your weight. The pressure in the air can is to set your sag, the volume spacer inside controls
the ramp-up rate for your frame leverage and we will recommend the correct one. The CTD modified lever system will allow for a wide range of settings from dh/enduro to all mountain and then to trail.

Choose rider weight.
Rider weight is without gear, we add 5-7 lbs for DH gear, 7-10 lbs for All-Mtn/Freeride.

Rider Weight

Choose the air pressure you will be using which gives you 30% sag.
We need this number to help set-up your shock rebound damping correctly.

We will help you choose your air pressure if you are unable to.
Service should be performed every 100 hrs, same as Fox recommends. For high leverage frames
or heavier riders requiring sag pressures over 185 psi, you should be aware that the
service life of damper oil will be dramatically decreased.

Air can and air sleeve
Rebuild and and seal replacement

After 50 hrs of riding the air can seals and air sleeve piston seals need replacing and if not replaced periodically
this allows the internal air pressureto leak between the positive and negative chambers reducing the effectiveness of the air spring system.
The air can seals also become jammed up with dirtand mud which can cause damage to the air piston shaft and create a leak path for the air can pressure.

We may suggest you replace the stock seals when we inspect your internals or
make plans to replace them yourself to prevent these issues!
This does not include damaged or dented air cans or air piston shafts, seals only.

Shocks newer than 50 hours need only be cleaned and reassembled typically.

Fox Improved Internal Floating Piston(IFP)

Improved IFP

Fox Float X 2014

(Fox supplies 2015-16 with an improved version, no need to add this option)

Replaces the stock one which is made of plastic with aluminum hard coated with rebuild bleed screw.

This replacement IFP has been redesigned with a wider land and tighter tolerances and prevents ifp tipping. It is also hard coat anodized to prevent wearing out.

We may suggest you replace the stock IFP when we inspect your internals or
replace it now to prevent a blown shock in the future!
