The link is made from a solid billet chunk of 6061 T6 aluminum with all internal and external edges radius'd to remove any stress risers. The link is designed to fit any 9 x 3" stroke shock, particularly the avalanche dhs series. The geometry has been set to approx. 66 degrees (fixed head angle) and the bb height is about 14.75" depending on wheel/tire/fork size. We spent months riding every type of terrain we could in about every configuration possible to determine what we feel is the "sweet spot" for the geometry for this particular bike. Myself and partner both race expert dh here on the eastcoast in the Pkill extreme dh series so the link has gotten it's fair share of testing. It's also what we would consider freeride certified with many drops in excess of 12ft to every surface around without a single failure. To date we have recieved no failures in the field so strength is first rate. The travel is slight rising rate and very plush throughout its cycle while utilizing the true speed sensitive qualities of the avalanche design to allow for bottomless travel on the biggest of hits. The link is designed to allow use of all factory hardware and has sealed ball bearings installed. No modifications are required and there are no clearance problems with link/ frame. The current price is set for $270 USD including shipping to just about anywhere. Lead time now is probably about 2-3 weeks as we have been working on very small order volume's so our batch size has been about 10-15 links/order to the machine shop. We are working on setting up a 100pc. order here in the next few weeks to allow us more freedom with sales lead times. I can be reached here preferably by e-mail and my partner Jason Langlois, can be reached at Southbridge Bicycle, phone #1-508-764-3657. Thanks for the interest. Eric Beaudry |
